Alberta has been in the ministry for many years. She believes in living a Spirit-filled life, and is used by the Lord in the gifts of the Holy Spirit to help people live a more abundant life, according to
John 10:10.
The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it
more abundantly.
Alberta believes Jesus Christ died on the cross, rose from the dead, and that He is the Lord of all things. She believes God heals today, and delivers those who are oppressed. Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today and forever.

worked with the youth pastor at Steppingstone. They were always at youth
meetings, and Maisie had heard all the Christian music. She loved it. During
praise services on Sunday mornings, I could sometimes pick out her voice
despite the roar of the instruments to my right, the choir behind me, and the
sea of souls who had come for worship. When she wasn't at church, Maisie
played Christian tapes and sang along. There was little doubt that she would
someday be a praise leader.
She loved the songs “I’m Trading My Sorrows,’ and “I Can Only Imagine.”
She was a delight to the church and to me. I'm sure she was a delight to the
Lord, too.
Maisie’s life was a dance with Jesus. Born with a heart murmur, she was per-
haps in step with a slightly different rhythm than most children. Perhaps she
knew how close she was to being in Jesus’ arms at any time. Her heart beat to
the step-drag-step-drag rhythm of a waltz rather than the quickstep tatta-tat
that most children’s hearts are timed to. She often talked about heaven with her
parents and with me, her “nanny.” Her teachers from vacation Bible school and
her Sunday school teachers saw something wonderfully different about Maisie.
She never left a service without saying bye to me, usually with a hug
bigger than she was. As soon as she got out of children’s church or the
nursery, she ran to the auditorium and found me. No matter where I was
when she got into the building, she would holler, “Nanny,” as she ran to me.
She dashed to me with her arms raised, knowing as surely as she knew that
Jesus loved her, that nanny would pick her up. After she had her hug at the
end of a service, she was ready to go home with her parents. I grew to expect
that hug. I would have missed it if I hadn't gotten it.
In July 2001, Alberta Quigley, an evangelist especially liked by the young
people and the children, visited Steppingstone. She took the time in her ser-
vices to minister to people one by one, delivering a personal word for each
of them. The website of John Gan Ministries describes Quigley’ ministry.
This woman's ministry stirs up the gifts in everyone. Her love to see
everyone come into the fullness of God's calling has changed my
life. God’s anointing on her stirs the crowd to participate and min-
ister... We all have perfect gifts from above, and you just may find
out what that is as God stirs you during one of her ministry sessions.

Dancing with Jesus 297
'The altar services often lasted as long as the message and sometimes even
longer when Alberta spoke. The church met every night from Sunday through
Wednesday during the week she was at the Lighthouse. One night Maisie
boldly stepped up to the front during the altar call while the Reverend Quigley
was ministering and laying on hands, So the evangelist said, "And what do you
want from the Lord?"
Without missing a beat, Maisie replied, "I want to go be with Jesus."
Wednesday was the last night of the series, and it was the longest altar call
of the entire week. Despite the late hour, no one left. Normally, even though
it was summer, people started leaving as soon as the message was over, and
people continued to drift out throughout the altar call. After all, they had jobs,
and children needed their sleep even if they didn't have to worry about home-
work or school the next morning, but that night it was nearing 11:00 p.m., and
no one had left. We were all still standing, singing, and praising God.
Alberta was praying for people, and some lay sprawled on the floor, slain
in the spirit. I sat in the front row of the congregation. I was watching a
woman who lay on the floor as Alberta moved on to another who had come
forward. The lady lay motionless at the base of the podium with a peaceful
smile, enraptured, touched by the spirit. Maisie left her seat next to her
mother and sneaked up beside me. We watched together.
"Is that Jesus that's praying for her?" Maisie whispered, tugging at my
sleeve. I couldn't see anyone standing near the woman. She was lying on the
floor alone. Excited, Maisie answered her own question, "It is. That's Jesus."
'There was no one that I could see.
"That's wonderful," I said anyway. Almost before the words were out,
Maisie gazed up at the ceiling,
"Nanny, see the angels?"
"Where? You see angels?"
"Yes, they're everywhere." Maisie pointed up drawing an arc across the
ceiling with her finger following the flight. Her finger moved about the
room, up and down but always as though it was following the motion of an
invisible butterfly.
"See it, Nanny. Don't you see the angels?"
I couldn't lie to her. "Oh," was all I managed to utter, while trying to
think of the right response. I was still searching for an answer when Karen
sat beside us.

(OPTIONAL DISCUSSION GUIDE IS AVAILABLE FOR THIS BOOK - PERFECT FOR BIBLE STUDIES) My mission is to help people aged thirteen through adulthood, to discover how to live in the freedom of really knowing and loving themselves, to develop a healthy inner language and to live boldly knowing they are enough. Stop and think about your own inner voice. What common thread in your inner language have you used over time that has shaped the person you’ve become? Does your inner voice speak truth or lies? Have you spent so much time listening to your inner voice that you believe these thoughts whether true or not? This book is the link connector between children’s self-identity and the developed language they adopt as their own.
Through the lens of the Scriptures, readers will learn a new positive way to think about who they are, how to identify and value their personal gifts and talents and how to use their newfound boldness to connect and serve others. The topics covered offer an in-depth understanding of what transpires when words, environment and personal
Through the lens of the Scriptures, readers will learn a new positive way to think about who they are, how to identify and value their personal gifts and talents and how to use their newfound boldness to connect and serve others. The topics covered offer an in-depth understanding of what transpires when words, environment and personality collide in unhealthy ways.
Your Rescued Life will teach readers:
• how to have a positive attitude about yourself.
• how the inner words spoken in childhood can dramatically affect daily life.• how to forgive those who have perhaps hurt them.
• how to see themselves as God sees them as described in the Scriptures.
• how to forgive yourself and gain transformational peace.
• At the end of each chapter, watch for the principles that author, Leon Johnson adopted that led him to a place of peace.
